UCAS Clearing Service
Clearing is a service available at SI-UK between July and September, but for most people it is used after the exam results are published on 16th of August. SI-UK can help people without a university or college place to find suitable vacancies on higher education courses through the UCAS Clearing Service.
How SI-UK can help you through UCAS Clearing (7 steps)
1. Get advice about clearing
Come to our office and talk to our counsellors about UCAS Clearing.
2. Look at the vacancies
SI-UK counsellors can help you to find out which courses are still available for September 2012 entry through the UCAS Clearing Website.
3. SI-UK will contact Universities and get you an offer
Once you have your exam results, SI-UK can contact universities and colleges to help you find a place through Clearing. If you do not have your exam results, you should wait until you have them before approaching any universities or colleges through the clearing system. Universities are only able to issue unconditional offers or rejections through clearing, therefore it is important that you have all the necessary documents available before you apply.
4. UCAS Clearing number
Make sure you have your UCAS Clearing Number when we contact a univesity or college. Your Clearing Number is displayed on the 'welcome' page and 'choices' page in UCAS Track.
5. Accepting your offer through Clearing
After we contacted the university and college clearing service, you may be informally offered several places.
6. Adding a Clearing choice to UCAS
Once you received the offer from universities and colleges, we can help you to enter a Clearing choice through UCAS. You can only enter once Clearing choice at a time.
7. Your place is confirmed
We will let the university or college know that you have entered their details on Track.
Our service is 100% free for international studnets and we fully support you through clearing. If you have any questions about clearing, please do not hesitate to contact us.
