Funding information for European students who wish to
study at undergraduate or postgraduate level in the UK.
Since the beginning of the 2021 academic year EU students are no longer eligible for home fee status at undergraduate and postgraduate level, although there are some exceptions:
From August 1st 2021, all EU students not registered under the EU Settlement Scheme will require a study visa and be considered international for tuition fee purposes, meaning they are unable to apply for a tuition fee or maintenance loan.
Financial support for EU students will be available via international student finance options such as a scholarship, grant or bursary, depending on your circumstances.
If you’re starting a course on or after 1st August 2021, you must have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme to apply for a tuition fee loan.
A maintenance loan is also available to help with living costs whilst studying in the UK.
