Oakham School
Overview
Oakham
is one of the UK’s leading schools offering both IB and AS/A2 in the Sixth
Form. Although academic progress and achievement is at the heart of the School
it is supplemented by a huge range of activities and sporting opportunities.
The total curriculum is a key feature of the School encouraging personal
development, teamworking, communication skills and opportunities for leadership
- essential lifeskills for all students. Both pupils and parents receive
regular feedback through the personal tutoring system.
Our considerable experience in caring for boys and girls whose parents are
based overseas recognises the importance of good communication and
acknowledging their specific needs. ‘Home at School’ for each student is in
their House community with its Housemaster or Housemistress, as well as two
Resident Tutors and Matron.
The School is set in attractive surroundings and the teaching areas are
equipped to a high standard. Facilities include one of the best school
libraries in the country, extensive science laboratories including a 200 seater
Lecture Theatre. Students also benefit from a Theatre and Music School which
are open all weekend, in addition to renowned sporting facilities. Our campus
site is only a 5 minute walk from a small friendly and affluent market
