SI-UK’s annual Application Week is back ahead of 2022 entry as a wide variety of universities and institutes of higher education from across the UK and London meet international students interested in studying in the UK.

UK University Open Day

Day Three, Wednesday 3 August (Register)

University of Bradford

Coventry University

University of Greenwich

University of Wolverhampton

Abbey DLD

The Abbey DLD Group of Colleges consists of three independent sixth form colleges located in Cambridge, London and Manchester, offering GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, Foundation, Pre-Sessional, and Combined Studies Programmes to international and EU students.

Bangor University

Bangor University is one of the UK's oldest and most unique institutions. We are located between the mountains of Snowdonia National Park, the incredible North Wales coastline and just 3 hours away from London. What makes Bangor special is our location: the beauty of a rural location with the buzz of a city, where you can receive a world class education, for less. 

University of East Anglia

Founded in 1963, located 1.5 miles west from Norwich city centre, UEA is spread over 320 acres of parkland. Home to over 16,000 students with about 4,000 international students from 120 countries. UEA offers 450 undergraduate and postgraduate courses plus an inspiring range of PhD’s. Courses offered in its four faculties, which contain 26 schools of study.

SOAS

Learn about what makes SOAS a remarkable institution in the heart London. University of Strathclyde

University of Exeter

With around 19,000 students from over 140 countries, Exeter is large enough to offer all the facilities one would expect, but small enough to retain a personal and friendly atmosphere.

Located in the South West of England, our three beautiful campuses offer a safe, high quality study environment whilst retaining easy access to city facilities. Accommodation is guaranteed for all new unaccompanied international students for the first year of their studies.

University of Dundee

Dundee is an established university with a progressive and dynamic outlook. An international reputation attracts top-class students and academics from across the world, with 145 countries represented in the University community. Dundee offer world-leading undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a range of subjects including law, engineering, business, medicine and life sciences.

London Metropolitan University

Loughborough University

Free UK University Application Service

Attending an SI-UK event allows you to meet UK universities in one location, ask questions directly to university representatives, network with other students, and participate in seminars and workshops hosted by university lecturers.

  1. Before attending the event, research the institutions that are attending.
  2. Bring copies of your academic transcripts, test scores (if applicable), and any other relevant documents.
  3. Inquire about specific courses, entry requirements, scholarship opportunities, accommodation options, and support services for international students.
  4. Jot down important information during your conversations with university representatives.
  5. Collect contact information from the representatives you meet and follow up with any additional questions or inquiries you may have after the event.

Attendance at SI-UK events is free for prospective international students.

Preparing for a university visit is essential to maximise your time there. Some things you should do include:

  • Research the university and your favourite courses in advance.
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask.
  • Bring copies of your academic documents and any other relevant materials.
  • Dress appropriately and professionally.
  • Take notes during your visit to remember important details later.

Scholarship Support

Scholarships provide financial assistance to international students who may not have access to the same resources as domestic students. Tuition fees for international students are higher, and the expense of travelling the world to study at a UK university can offset the financial burden of studying abroad by providing vital financial support.

If you are looking for a scholarship, grant, or bursary to help fund your studies in the UK, the SI-UK team and selected UK universities can assist you with what you are eligible for.

Supporting Documents

When attending a UK university open day as an international student, you must bring along several supporting documents to ensure you have all the necessary information and materials. We recommend that you bring:

  • Academic Transcripts: Please provide copies of your high school transcripts and any previous academic qualifications, such as diplomas or certificates.
  • English Language Proficiency Certificate: If English is not your first language and you've taken an English proficiency test (such as IELTS or TOEFL), bring a copy of your test results.
  • Passport: Your valid passport or any other form of identification.
  • Visa Documents: If you already have a student visa or have applied for one, bring copies of relevant visa documents or confirmation of visa application.
  • Resume/CV: Please include a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae (CV) detailing your educational background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and any other relevant achievements.
  • Portfolio (if applicable): If you're applying for a creative or practical course that requires a portfolio (e.g., art, design, architecture), bring samples of your work or a portfolio showcasing your skills and creativity.
  • Reference Letters: Copies of reference letters from teachers, professors, or employers that support your application.

Visa Advice

SI-UK's visa consultant is registered with the Home Office OISC* (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner) and has extensive knowledge of the latest immigration legislation, rules and regulations.

SI-UK’s Student Visa Service offers advice and assistance to international students wishing to obtain a UK visa, specialising in General Student visas, Child Student visas and Short-term study visas (for English language courses lasting 6-11 months).
