Queen's College
Overview
We
are one of the leading co-educational schools in the South West, continually
investing in excellent facilities and achieving outstanding “A” level and GCSE
results. Nursery through to Sixth Form is all on one site ensuring a smooth
transition from one stage of education to the next and maintaining familiarity
and continuity.
The college offers a diverse and exciting co-curricular programme, ensuring a
comprehensive, all-round education. We are a close-knit community encouraging
all students to become fully involved in the life of the school, recognising
and valuing each pupil’s contribution.
We respect our pupils as individuals with differing strengths and nurture and
develop each student’s potential. As a parent summed up, “Queen’s is brilliant
at finding what your child is good at, developing this and making them feel
special.” Boarders play a big part in school life and have access to a wealth
of facilities and opportunities. All Boarding Houses have recently been
refurbished and offer generous accommodation and a homely environment. Dorms
sleep 1 – 6 and older pupils have single study bedrooms. Boarders have access
to recreational and common rooms, comfortable TV lounges and quiet study areas
with computer access. Weekend activities are offered, with trips on Sundays.
Unique Points
Visitors always comment on our welcoming, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the real sense of purpose and passion for learning. Inspirational teaching encourages our students to question and to challenge. We instil in our students the self-belief and conviction that no goal is unattainable, providing opportunities which develop and prepare them to become responsible, inspirational, ambitious and focussed members of society. We encourage versatility, integrity, modesty, empathy and the confidence to take risks and make changes – essential 21st century life skills.
Entry Requirements
We ask for a copy of the student’s latest school report and, if appropriate, predicted exam grades. Where applicable, students will also be required to sit our Maths, English and Science tests.
