The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is part of the selection process for some UK medical and dental schools. It is an online test designed to test cognitive abilities, attitudes, critical thinking, and logical reasoning. There are four reasoning tests and a situational judgement test.
The test is taken at your local test centre; each subtest is multiple-choice. Past papers are unavailable, but specimen questions are on the UCAT website.
The Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT) was an additional entry test for students who wish to apply to medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, and biomedical science courses in the UK. The test was discontinued in 2024, and most universities that used the BMAT will use the UCAT from 2024 onwards.
If you want to learn more about admissions tests at UK medical schools or want to apply to study medicine, arrange your free consultation with SI-UK India today. The Medicine Service will help you secure a place at a UK medical school.
I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
