12 Global University Fair Tips for Indian Students
1. View Information on Attending Universities
Use the Fair website to see which universities will be participating in the event. You can also explore detailed information on university rankings, courses, and available scholarships.
2. Check the Schedule
Ensure you check the final schedule before the event so that you do not miss any important presentations or talks.
3. Learn About Your Study Options
Take time to thoroughly research your study options based on your qualifications and interests. It’s highly beneficial to gain specialist knowledge from university representatives, which goes beyond what you can find online. Our database includes over 65,000 courses—explore them and consider what you might like to study!
4. Decide Which Universities to Meet
Now that you know which universities are attending, plan which ones you want to speak with. Some booths may be busier than others, and there may not be enough time to meet with everyone.
5. Make a List of Your Questions
Prepare in advance by writing down key questions that are important to you. Focus on areas like course structure, admission requirements, tuition fees, and application deadlines. University representatives will have limited time, so having specific queries ready will ensure you get the answers you need.
6. Know How to Get There
Plan your journey to ensure you arrive at the venue with plenty of time. Consider your modes of transport and any potential delays.
7. Stay Open to Suggestions
While it’s important to be focused and ask specific questions, keep an open mind. You may discover new study options, scholarships, or possibilities that you weren’t previously aware of.
8. Be Transparent with Representatives
Universities attending the fair are keen to recruit talented students and may offer scholarships or financial aid. Be honest about your financial needs so that representatives can offer guidance and advice on available bursaries or support.
9. Be Confident
Approach the fair with confidence, as though you’re attending an interview. Make a positive impression by considering your attire, appearance, and behaviour when speaking with university delegates.
10. Bring Guests
The Fair is free, and you are encouraged to bring guests along. They can help you ask the right questions, recall important information, and even share accommodation advice if you plan to study abroad.
11. Collect Brochures
Make sure to gather brochures, business cards, and other materials from the university booths. Keep these organised for reference when you begin your application process.
12. Prepare for Post-Fair
After the fair, go through the information you’ve collected and follow up with SI-UK counsellors. They can help you apply to the universities that best match your qualifications and study goals.
