The answer is, yes, you can! The Bar Council of India recognises a law degree from 45 UK universities where you can study law and practice it later in India. How to Practice Law in India with a UK Law degree

There are over 40 UK BCI-approved law colleges and universities where you can study recognised law degrees. Therefore, two different methods are moving forward.

Registration for students with an LLB degree from a recognised UK university

1. Apply for registration to your respective State Bar Council after returning to India

2. State Bar Council will forward your application to the Bar Council of India

3. Sit for an exam on six subjects, which is conducted twice by the Bar Council of India

4. You are permitted to practice law in India on successfully qualifying for the exam

Registration for students with an LLB degree from a non-recognised UK university

1. Apply directly to the Bar Council of India

2. Your application will be considered on a case-to-case basis for approval

3. If your application is approved, you can practice Law in India
