A new academic year begins this September, and many students plan to study in the UK for the first time.
If you have changed your heart about what you wish to study or where you wish to do it, UCAS Extra allows you to make another choice. UCAS Extra is for students who have already used up all five choices and have not received any offers or turned down offers.
SI-UK can maximise your chances of securing an offer from a UK university. Learn more about applying through UCAS and search for your dream course.
What is UCAS Extra?
UCAS Extra allows you to apply for an extra university course, even if you had already submitted your five choices by the previous deadline. It opens each February and runs until July, and if you are eligible to use the UCAS Extra system, UCAS will send you the relevant details.
How many courses can I choose?
You can only select one extra course at a time. Once you have done this, you then have three possible outcomes:
- You receive an offer and decide to accept it
- You receive an offer but decide not to accept it and begin the Extra process again
- You do not receive an offer and begin the Extra process again
Search over 60,000 courses with SI-UK. We can help you find your dream programme.
What happens after the July deadline?
If you do not receive any further offers or have not accepted any offers by the July deadline, you will be eligible to enter UCAS Clearing.
