Leeds Trinity University was founded in 1966 and was awarded full university status in 2012. It is one of only two Catholic universities in the UK, but welcomes students of all faiths and beliefs. The University is small compared to most UK institutions, with just 3,500 students currently enrolled.
The University’s traditional strengths are teacher training and theology, but recent investment has taken place to develop media studies and journalism degrees, with full studios in a number of areas available for students. In 2013 it launched 18 new courses, including two year degrees in education and sport, and tourism and leisure management. 95% of Leeds Trinity students are in work or further education six months after graduating.
Leeds Trinity students also benefit from a professional work placement with every degree. Companies include Sky Sports, Sue Ryder, Oxfam, Morrisons and Asda.
Leeds Trinity University has a growing number of international students and makes a point of getting to know each of them personally. Students are offered enhanced support and assistance, which helps them to feel at home early on. This includes an extended induction programme throughout the first month of the academic year, credit-bearing ‘English for Academic Purposes’ modules and a regular programme of social activities. There is also a multi-faith prayer space that all students can use, as well as awards and scholarships available for international students.
League tables have revealed that Leeds Trinity is in the top 10% of UK universities for teaching excellence and the top 10 in the UK for student satisfaction.
Leeds Trinity University offers a variety of accommodation on campus, ranging from newly built, self-catering en-suite accommodation in self-contained flats to part-catered accommodation in traditional halls of residence, with some en-suite rooms. All of the rooms in halls of residence have internet access and there are 575 bedrooms on campus, most of which are reserved for first year students.
Leeds Trinity University’s campus is also only 15 minutes from Leeds city centre and 10 minutes from the student hub of Headingley. York is also only 40 minutes away by train.
Leeds is recognised as one of the UK’s best university cities and has a student population of over 200,000. The city was voted 'Best university destination in the UK' by The Independent, while numerous cultural events regularly take place such as Leeds Music Festival and the Leeds Film Festival.
My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
