The University of Law is the longest-established specialist provider of legal education in the UK, with the origin of the school dating back over 100 years. The University of Law currently work with 90 of the top 100 UK law firms including Ashurst, Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Pincent Masons, and with four of the top five global firms, such as the International Bar Association.
The University of Law currently host eight fully-resourced law schools across the UK –in major cities such as London, Leeds and Manchester – which are all close to thriving commercial areas and leading law firms. A wide range of opportunities such as placements, mentoring and legal advice centres are all designed to support your career aspirations.
The University of Law will train you to be a lawyer, not a legal academic. Everything the University do is geared towards teaching law in a professional, practical context, so that you can learn how the law is applied in the real world and develop the right professional skills to think and act like a modern global lawyer.
The De Broc School of Business is the University of Law’s brand new business school which was launched in 2015. Based across three locations in London, Birmingham and Leeds, students can choose to study a range of different business subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level alongside topics such as marketing, finance and human resources management.
The Student Support Services team can advise on a range of topics including obtaining a UK bank account, buying a mobile phone or finding local accommodation. A meet and greet service at the airport is also available for when you arrive in the UK for the first time. The University has a dedicated international visa office, which can provide professional support and advice on matters relating to international student visas.
A range of clubs and societies, including country specific societies, exist to help students make friends, settle in and feel at home. All are run by students, for students, and cover a wide range of topics and interests.
The University of Law guarantee an offer of accommodation to all first year LL.B students and international full-time LL.M students who have accepted their offer of a place and have made the University of Law their firm choice by the correct deadline. In addition, the University of Law have two additional accommodation options in London specifically for international students. For non-international full-time LL.M students, the University can provide support to help find suitable accommodation.
The University of Law has nine centres across eight cities, giving students the flexibility of studying in a number of fantastic UK locations. Courses vary at each centre. For example the BAR Professional Training Course is only available in London and Birmingham, while the full-time LLM in International Legal Practise is in London and Manchester. Professional law degrees can be studied in Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Guildford, Leeds, London Bloomsbury and Manchester.
