The GREAT Scholarships programme, launched by the British Council together with 49 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from numerous countries to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Plymouth is offering 1 x £10,000 scholarship per country to students in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Malaysia applying for postgraduate taught courses in 2024/25.
To be eligible for any of the GREAT Scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:
Be an international fee-paying student fully financing your studies, without external funding from sources such as a government, other scholarship provider, company, or employer.
Have achieved a minimum 2.1 or its equivalent in your undergraduate honours degree.
Meet the English language proficiency and academic entry requirements for your chosen course.
Be domiciled in the relevant country: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia or Malaysia
Hold an offer for a taught Masters programme.

Any one-year full time PGT programme in justice and law. These include LLM Law, MSc Criminology, MSc Cybercrime, Terrorism and Security and MA International Relations: Global Security and Development.
If you are considering joining a University of Plymouth postgraduate taught course in January 2025, you may be eligible to receive £1,500 off your tuition fees with an International Welcome to Plymouth Award.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this award you must:
apply and successfully enrol in January 2025 to any postgraduate taught programme offering a January start.
be self-funded and paying international/overseas tuition fees.
The International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship will be offered automatically, providing you meet the eligibility criteria. A separate application will not be required.
Scholarship value: £3,500 off your tuition fees in year one.
To recognise continued academic achievement, you may also receive:
£2,000 off the successive years tuition fee if an overall grade of 60% or above is maintained
£3,500 off the successive years tuition fee if an overall grade of 70% or above is maintained.
One student from the Caribbean region will be offered a scholarship worth 50% off their year one tuition fees.
To recognise continual academic achievement, they may receive 50% off the successive year's tuition fee, if an overall grade of 70% or above is maintained.
To be eligible you must:
have an outstanding academic record
meet our standard English language requirements
have an unconditional/conditional offer letter from the University of Plymouth which you have accepted as your firm choice by 31 May 2025.
complete a scholarship application form and submit this through UKESC by 31 May 2025.
The Undergraduate International Student Scholarship will be offered automatically, providing you meet the eligibility criteria. A separate application will not be required.
Scholarship value: £2000 off your tuition fees in year one.
To recognise continued academic achievement, you may also receive:
10% off the successive years tuition fee if an overall grade of 60% or above is maintained.
20% off the successive years tuition fee if an overall grade of 70% or above is maintained.
Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship rewards outstanding achievement and is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
An application must be submitted for this scholarship.
