Part-time undergraduate degrees For Mature Students
Whether you're in the process of choosing your next steps to prepare for university or you're ready to apply for a degree, Sheffield Universityhas a long history of welcoming mature students.
A mature student is somebody who will be aged 21 or over at the start of their course.
As a mature student your application is guaranteed to be given additional consideration, relating to your relevant academic, professional and life experiences.
Sheffield now offers a number of undergraduate degree courses on a part-time basis. The course structure is the same as for the equivalent full-time courses, and part-time students study individual modules with full-time students.
Instead of studying 120 credits a year for three years, part-time students spread their credits over a period of five or six years, depending on the subject they are studying.
These courses include:
BA/BSc Applied Social Sciences
BA Education, Culture and Childhood
BMedSci Health and Human Sciences
Foundation year
All of these degrees are also available with a foundation year. These courses are offered via the Department for Lifelong Learning, and are for mature students (21 and over) who have been out of education for 2+ years.
