A new academic year begins this September, and many students are currently formalising plans to study in the UK for the first time.
If you have you had a change of heart about what you wish to study, or where you wish to do it, UCAS Extra allows you to make another choice. UCAS Extra is for students who have already selected their five choices but have not received any offers, or have changed their minds about which courses and institutions they wish to apply to.
SI-UK can help maximise your chances of securing an offer from a UK university through UCAS Extra. Arrange a free consultation today at our offices in London or Manchester to get started and search over 60,000 courses in our database.
What is UCAS Extra?
UCAS Extra allows you to apply for an extra university course, even if you had already submitted your five choices by the previous deadline. It opens each February, running until July, and if you are eligible to use the UCAS Extra system, UCAS will send you the relevant details through.
How many courses can I choose?
You can only select one extra course at a time. Once you have done this, you then have three possible outcomes:
- You receive an offer and decide to accept it
- You receive an offer, but decide not to accept it and begin the Extra process again
- You do not receive an offer and begin the Extra process again
Search over 60,000 courses with SI-UK.
What happens after the July deadline?
If you do not receive any further offers, or have not accepted any offers by the July deadline, you will be eligible to enter UCAS Clearing.
