Who will Rendcomb College suit?
Young people with good academic abilities but who recognise the value of putting in the effort to become fully-rounded citizens of the world. The many different nationalities easily blend with pupils from the local area. There are multiple opportunities to study music, drama and the arts, along with more traditional UK A-level subjects. The pupils have a strong sense of caring for their environment and each other.
Outcomes
Many move on to top UK universities with a few applications each year to Oxford and Cambridge. Artistic destinations also feature strongly. Recent investment in new IT facilities and strong academic support in that area have given an added boost to those students wanting to pursue computer and maths based studies.
Settling-In at Rendcomb College
Younger students are closely cared for by an enthusiastic and experienced group of boarding house parents. As the youngsters mature, more freedoms are given to allow a sense of independence and responsibility to emerge. Any pupil with any need would be quickly looked after, including by the Headmaster’s wife who helps create a strong family atmosphere.
Scholarship Opportunities at Rendcomb College
A number of Scholarships (Academic, Art, Music, Drama and Sport) are awarded each year at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Scholarships are based on the assessment of a pupil’s potential and the value that we believe they will add to the life of our school. We also award the Noel Wills Scholarship and the Rendcomb Scholarship at 11+.
The number of individual Scholarships awarded each year depends solely on the calibre of the candidates. There is no limit to the number of Scholarships the school awards; Rendcomb looks for a level of excellence in order to award a Scholarship.
All awards are reassessed annually and are subject to satisfactory academic progress and behaviour. All cases are judged on their own merits and applicants should submit any additional evidence, as required, along with their Scholarship application form no later than the published date. Visit the Application Timetable page for further details.
