The University of Hull – the 'friendly university' – puts students at the heart of everything it does. It is also proud of our academic reputation, which reflects the high quality of the education it provides.
The total student population at the University of Hull is approximately 20,000 across Hull and Scarborough campuses. Over 2,500 people are employed by the University of Hull; more than 1000 are academic staff.
The University has particular research expertise in social justice, environmental technologies, maritime history, healthcare, 3D visualisation and nanotechnology – it is also known for liquid-crystal technology (for which the Department of Chemistry received the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement).
In the 2014 national Research Excellence Framework (REF), 62% of the University’s research was judged to be internationally excellent.
The University offers over 2000 courses a year, from the very latest disciplines to well-established traditional subjects. Students have a varied selection of undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time, foundation and continuing professional development choices.
Hull is a progressive University, investing heavily in facilities and resources, like refurbished student residences and catering areas, improvements to the Students’ Union premises, a moot court room and the creation of a new road, and parking infrastructure system on campus, to name just a few.
My counsellor contacted me every day throughout the application process and helped me receive an unconditional offer. I am so grateful to SI-UK and will never forget them. I will study very hard as I feel this is the best reward I can give the whole team.
