Liverpool
College is an independent HMC school for pupils ages 3-19. Founded in 1840 by
among others William Gladstone, we are a Church of England foundation which
has, throughout its history, welcomed pupils of all faiths, beliefs, nationalities
and backgrounds.
The boarding programme at Liverpool College is focused on preparing pupils for
university academically. Pupils come form a variety of counties and the UK to
study for GCSEs and A levels . The boarding programme is small with a maximum
of 30 boarders and is fully integrated into the life of the school and the
community. We offer a distinctive A Level Foundation course and A Level studies
in 24 subjects.
The Upper School is divided into school Houses: Brook's, Butler's, Howson's and
Selwyn's . Each House has members from each year group in the school. The House
provides pastoral care, opportunities for leadership, house competitions and a
locker and social space during the school day. Every boarder is a member of a
school House and thus receives support and guidance from their House Tutor and
their Head of House.
The school boasts over 58 clubs and activities and offers a full A Level
programme to its pupils in the Sixth Form. Our website provides information and

Liverpool
College offers a Sixth Form Boarding programme. We have an admission
partnership with the University of Liverpool, an internationally renowned
Russell Group University. Our 30 acre leafy campus is a short distance from all
the cultural amenities of the city of Liverpool, the University, and countless outdoor
opportunities.
Boarders receive personal attention and guidance. Boarding Halls are small with
spacious, well decorated single rooms. The school admits a maximum of 30
boarders, ensuring quality and a good mix of pupils from the UK and abroad.
Entry Requirements
Admission is by examination, with papers taken in Mathematics and English. A school report is also taken up. Depending on results, a candidates may be offered a place on the A Level course or A Level Foundation course. The examination may be taken at Liverpool College, or sent to a pupil's current school (or to a recruitment agency or British Council office) for administration
