The University of Suffolk International Merit Scholarship (2025/26) is a scheme designed to reward international students who meet or exceed our published entry requirements (based on the country where you obtained your qualifications). The scheme is open to applicants of undergraduate and postgraduate-taught programmes delivered by the University of Suffolk at the Ipswich campus.
The awards are £1,000 - £3,000 based on your academic achievements and level of study.
Award Values
Undergraduate programmes:
£2,000 to applicants who meet the published entry requirements.
£3,000 to applicants who exceed the published entry requirements.
Postgraduate-taught programmes:
£1,000 to applicants with a 2:2 (lower second) class equivalent bachelor’s degree.
£2,000 to applicants with a 2:1 (upper second) class equivalent bachelor’s degree.
£3,000 to applicants with a first class equivalent bachelor’s degree.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the International Merit Scholarship (2025/6), applicants must:
Be classified as Overseas for fee purposes (international fees).
Have applied for an undergraduate or postgraduate-taught programme delivered by the University of Suffolk at the Ipswich campus.
Have applied to commence studies in the 2025/6 academic year.
Be studying on a full-time basis.
Undergraduate applicants must be starting in the first year of study.
The University of Suffolk International Suffolk Executive MBA (SEMBA) Scholarship (2024/5) scheme is designed to attract and reward international applicants to the University of Suffolk who demonstrate strong academic achievement from their previous studies and/or a strong employment background.
The International Suffolk Executive MBA (SEMBA) Scholarship (2024/5) scheme offers awards at the value of £4,000. This is an automatic scholarship that does not require an additional application all eligible applicants will automatically be considered for this scholarship.
There are no limits to the number of awards given in the 2024/5 academic year. Scholarships will be made available as a reduction to the tuition fee that is payable upon enrolment at the University.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the International Suffolk Executive MBA (SEMBA) Scholarship (2024/5), applicants must:
Be classified as Overseas for fee purposes (international fees).
Apply for, and be given an offer of a place on, the Suffolk Executive MBA (SEMBA) programme delivered by the University of Suffolk at the Ipswich campus.
Have applied to commence studies in the 2024/5 academic year.

The University of Suffolk Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/6) is designed to attract and reward exceptional international applicants to the University of Suffolk. Successful recipients will have an excellent record of academic achievement and show a commitment to improving the lives of others through the health professions. The University of Suffolk will be awarding fifty (50) Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health scholarships in the 2025/6 academic year. Scholarships are valued at £4,000 and are paid in each year of full-time study – see notes and exclusions below. Awards will be split across the September and January intakes. This is not an automatic scholarship – eligible candidates will be invited to submit a scholarship application prior to the deadline. Scholarships will be made available as a reduction to the tuition fee that is payable upon enrolment at the University. Payment cannot be offset against a CAS deposit (if one is required).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/6), applicants must:
Have received a conditional or unconditional offer for a 360-credit undergraduate or 180-credit postgraduate-taught programme delivered by the University of Suffolk at the Ipswich campus.
Be studying on a full-time basis.
Have applied to commence studies in the 2025/6 academic year.
Be self-funding and classified as Overseas for fee purposes (international fees).
Have applied for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/6) prior to the scholarship application deadline.
Undergraduate applicants must be starting their studies in Year 1 (Level 4).
Deadlines
The deadline to apply for this scholarship will be 25 April 2025 (September 2025 starters) and 12 September 2025 (for January 2026 starters).
