Background
Women are underrepresented in the engineering sector with a female participation rate of less than 13%. Marco have been working hard to change this statistic and are proud to currently have nearly 30% female employees. However, they want to do more and are actively working on measures to further attract and retain female staff within a historically male dominated industry. The female breakdown of the company’s Senior Management Team has increased from 0% in 2021 to 20% in 2022 and there is 50% female participation in their Middle Management Leadership Programme. Marco is committed to changing the perception of engineering among female students by working with schools and colleges to encourage girls and women into this exciting field and supporting them throughout their studies.
