Awardees of the scholarship will receive €1,500 in recognition of their academic success and will be invited to join a high achiever development programme supported by the scholarship to grow their leadership capacity and to develop the skills they need to excel in their field of study.

Scholarship Awarding:
The University of Galway Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to high achieving entrants to the full-time degree courses offered by University of Galway, commencing in 2024. A total of 40 scholarships will be awarded as per the allocation outlined below.
University of Galway is delighted to offer a Global Achievement Scholarship to eligible applicants, providing a €2,000 reduction in tuition fees for their first year of undergraduate study. There is no need to apply separately for this scholarship, as all eligible candidates will be automatically considered based on their academic results and personal statement.
To qualify for this scholarship, successful candidates must be:
assessed as international for fee purposes
self-funded (ie not receive funding from any other external sources such as government or employer sponsorship)
Hardiman Scholarships applications for 2024 are now open. The Hardiman PhD Scholarships are fully funded for four years, with a stipend of €22,000 p.a. plus a tuition fee waiver. The Scholarships offer opportunities for suitably qualified individuals to pursue a Structured PhD focused on the five key areas of research in which the University offers leading expertise.
