Introduction to Studying in Wales
Wales is respected the world over by employers for its 12 fantastic academic institutions which deliver more than 5,600 courses to over 100,000 students. Between them, the universities boast a significant number of 4* rated departments, which are the highest ratings you can achieve, and demonstrate the international standing of academic staff and their work.
A large number of campuses are based within short distance of areas notable for their beauty, and many surveys have shown that students in Wales consistently enjoy a better quality of life than other students across the UK.
Living in Wales
Wales might be a small nation in comparison to its bigger neighbours of England and Scotland, but it more than makes up for this fact by offering a scenic landscape with plenty to do, and cities which offer much. Mountains, hills and rivers offer plenty of inspiration for art students, while places such as Cardiff offer exciting big city thrills.
Each year over 8,000 international students call Wales home and benefit from a warm welcome and huge sense of community.
