The College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences (CEDPS) Academic Excellence Scholarship is a cash award available to full-time students commencing specified undergraduate courses in the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences.
Award details
Value: £2,000 cash each year for a maximum of three years for a full time course and for a maximum of three years for a sandwich course. The scholarship will only be paid once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met (additional payments will not be made during a repeating year, regardless of the reason for repetition).
Scholarship holders may be requested to represent Brunel at various promotional activities throughout their time at the University. Participation is not mandatory and scholarship holders may be contacted with invitations to participate in activities such as surveys, focus groups and interviews, in order to evaluate the University’s financial support package. Scholarship holders will be contacted as and when participation is required. If a student chooses not to participate, their scholarship award will not be affected.
Data pertaining to scholarship holders such as: progression rates, degree attainment, degree completion, and graduate outcomes may also be analysed in order to understand the effectiveness of bursaries and scholarships. This data may also be linked to other data already held by the University for the purpose of better understanding the impact of bursaries and scholarships on under-represented groups.
Eligibility
Scholarships will be awarded to all those applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:
Must hold an offer of a place on a full time Undergraduate course within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences (including placement routes and undergraduate integrated Masters programmes but excluding Integrated Foundation courses), a list of eligible courses can be found in appendix 1.
This includes offers made through UCAS Clearing. Clearing applicants must ensure that they inform the Student Loans Company (SLC) at the earliest opportunity that they are attending Brunel University London. The SLC must notify Brunel University London by 27th September 2024. Failure to do this will result in the applicant not being considered for the award.
Offer must be for FHEQ Level 4 (Year 1) of the course.
Offer must be ‘Unconditional Firm’ (UF) by the date the Scholarship Allocation Panel make their awards (i.e. applicant must have met all offer conditions and firmly accepted the place).
Must commence the course in the upcoming academic year (applicants for deferred entry will be considered for a scholarship in the year they start their course and not in the year of their course application).
Must achieve or exceed one of the following qualifications and grades:
3 A Levels with grades AAB or above
International Baccalaureate Diploma with 33 points or above
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma with grades D*D*D*or above
3 Scottish Advanced Highers with grades AAB or above
Higher Irish Leaving Certificate from 5 subjects with grades H2, H2, H2, H3, H3 (or AAABB from the pre-2017 grading system) or above
Those not eligible for this Scholarship:
Applicants entering a course in the Foundation year, FHEQ Level 5 (Year 2) or FHEQ Level 6 (Year 3).
Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC), or who are progressing to a Brunel course from a BPC course.
Applicants who will not commence their course in the upcoming academic year - applicants holding offers for deferred entry will be considered for a scholarship in the year they start their course and not in the year of their course application.
Brunel University London is proud to offer a discount of 10% off the tuition fees for every year of the course for any new applicant registering onto a course in 2024/5 who has a:
Direct family connection to a student enrolled at the University (‘Current Student’);
Direct family connection to a ‘Graduate/Alumni’ of the University;
Registering at Brunel in the same entry year as their family member;
Direct family connection to a current member of staff at Brunel University London (‘Current Staff’).
Award details
Value: A discount of 10% off the tuition fees for every year of the course for any applicant applying for a course starting in 2024/25, who has a direct family connection to a ‘Current Student’, a ‘Graduate/Alumni’ of the University or a ‘Current member of staff’ at Brunel or is registering in the same entry year as a sibling.
The discount will only be applied once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met. Family is defined as spouse, parent, child or sibling.
We are offering an unlimited number of awards. The Family Discount will be awarded to all applicants that meet the eligibility criteria. (The discount will only be applied once irrespective of the number of qualifying family members).
Eligibility
The discount will be awarded to those applicants who are:
Registering on a full time or part time undergraduate or postgraduate programme, including distance learning courses and online learning students who meet all the following criteria.
Have applied by the deadline stated in Section 1 and provided evidence of a family connection to a ‘Current Student’, ‘Graduate/Alumni’ or ‘Current Staff’ of Brunel University London.
Those not eligible for this discount:
Applicants awarded the BMS International Scholarship.
Applicants who registered with the University in a previous academic year.
Brunel Medical School (BMS) is pleased to offer 3 prestigious scholarships for International students. The scholarship scheme is for overseas fee-paying applicants only and the awards will be based on merit.
Award details
Value: Each scholarship has a total value of a 15% fee discount off the annual tuition fee across the duration of the 5-year course, (for example, the tuition fee will be reduced by 15% in year 1, 15% of the year 2 tuition fee, etc) subject to satisfactory progression. The scholarship award will be deducted from the annual tuition fee only; it will not be awarded as a cash payment.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Brunel Medical School International Scholarship an applicant must:
Apply for and fulfil the academic criteria for admission to the Brunel Medical MBBS programme.
Be in receipt of an offer to study on the full-time MBBS programme starting in September 2024 and have paid the deposit by the deadline, which is normally at the end of May 2024.
Applicants must meet all conditions of their offer by the time they are due to register at Brunel.
Must be classed as an overseas fee-paying student based on the UK regulations. Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information they have provided in their application form to assess fee status against regulations set by the UK government.
Brunel Medical School International Scholarships are open to students who need to undertake an English Language course at Brunel Language Centre (BLC) prior to starting the MBBS.
Those not eligible for these scholarships:
Applicants NOT classed as overseas for fees purposes based on the UK government regulations, or those with an unresolved fee status.
Applicants sponsored by their home governments.
Applicants who will NOT commence their course in September 2024.
Brunel graduates awarded the 15% Graduate Discount applied to the net tuition fee.
All students who are responsible for paying their own course fees in full, and who pay the full amount of fees due at or before their scheduled date of registration, may receive a early payment discount of 2% on the net course fee i.e after the application of any other discounts to which they may be entitled.
The Postgraduate Academic Excellence scholarship is available for students on Postgraduate Taught (PGT) courses at Brunel University London and is available to all students who have obtained a First-Class undergraduate degree;
from a UK University, either in the UK or at an overseas campus or
obtained the equivalent of a UK First Class degree from an EU institution
Additionally, graduates of Brunel University London will receive theGraduate Discount of 15% off the final tuition fee amount due (after any the scholarship award has been applied). On the basis that they register on a taught postgraduate programme on a fully self-funding basis (including career development loans).
Value: A discount of 15% off the tuition fees.
How many: All those that meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
The Scholarship will be awarded to all full time, part time, distance learning or online learning students who meet all the following criteria:
Have an unconditional offer to study a taught Master’s programme at Brunel University London, this includes the MBA and Mres programmes.
Have achieved a First Class honours degree from a UK University or an EU University.
For a UK degree: the award must be from a UK University, the student does not have to have attended a UK based campus.
An honours degree awarded with distinction is acceptable where no first class classification exists.
Holding a higher degree, without having achieved a First Class classification at undergraduate level does not qualify for receipt of this award.
For an EU equivalent the award must be from a recognised EU institution and be the equivalent of a First-class honours degree, as listed in appendix 1.
Those not eligible for this scholarship:
Applicants on all associate courses or modules.
Applicants undertaking short courses.
All PGCert, PGDip and PGCE courses – with the exception of the PGCE Secondary Education with PE and PGCE Primary (which are not funded by the Governments Teacher Training bursaries).
Applicants on Postgraduate Research courses.
Those who are being funded either in full or partially, this excludes those applicants whose fees are being paid by their employer, but does include:
Bursaries provided by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). This discount will apply to courses that are not eligible for a bursary, namely the PGCE in Primary Education and the PGCE in Secondary Education with PE only.
Applicants on the PG Cert Education (Primary) FT.
Courses that are fully funded by the Environment Agency namely MSc Flood and Costal Engineering.
Those students who are sponsored by their Government.
This bursary was designed to reward students based on their academic profile and we will award the tuition fee award to all applicants who meet or exceed the criteria for the award.
To be considered applicants need to hold an offer of a place to study on an undergraduate course starting in September 2024. Awards will be made until the end of August 2024.
Who is eligible?
To be considered, here’s what you will need:
Achieved a minimum 3 A Levels with grades ABB and above or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification;
Have an offer to study on one of our undergraduate courses starting in September 2024;

Value: £2,000 tuition fee reduction applied each year for a maximum of three years and four years for integrated foundationprogrammes. The awards will be paid once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met (additional payments will not be made during a repeating year, regardless of the reason for repetition).
Application process: There is no separate application, applicants will be identified and considered for the award on a case by case basis throughout the year until the scheme closure on 31st August 2024. The fee reduction will be confirmed in September 2024, subject to meeting all conditions stated in the offer email.
Brunel will assess each application for suitability against these terms and conditions.
Award holders may be required to represent Brunel as ambassadors throughout their time at the University and to participate occasionally in various activities to help promote the University. This might include hosting tours of the campus and its facilities, providing administrative support at Open Days, participating in social media and other marketing activity as required. Scholarship winners will be contacted by the International Recruitment or Marketing team as and when participation is required.

Must be classed as an Overseas fee paying student based on the UK government regulations and be self-funded (not sponsored). Must meet all conditions of their offer and hold and Unconditional offer to study on a full-time undergraduate programme (including placement routes and undergraduate programmes with integrated foundation) starting in September 2024 by the time they are due to register.
Applicants applying for the Graduate LLB Law Programme will be considered for the Bursary and must achieve a minimum of 2:1 or higher in an Undergraduate degree.
2.2 Those not eligible for this bursary:
Applicants NOT classed as Overseas for fees purposes, based on the UK government regulations or those with an unresolved fee status.
Applicants who are not fully self-funded and are being sponsored by a Government or external body.
Applicants who will NOT commence their course in September 2024, this includes deferred entry month and year.
Undergraduate applicants entering a course at Level 5 (Year 2) or Level 6 (Year 3), with the exception of the Graduate LLB Law Programme.
Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC) or who are progressing to a Brunel course from an BPC course.
Applicants holding an offer to study by Distance Learning.
Applicants holding offers to study on a part-time programme.
Applicants who have previously studied with Brunel University London.
Our Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Award offers £6,000 fee reduction for self-funded international students across our postgraduate taught courses starting in January 2025. The award celebrates our excellent postgraduate students as we join the University of London from October 2024.
This scholarship was designed to reward exceptional students with excellent academic records and a passion for creating positive change in their communities.
Value: £6,000 tuition fee reduction applied to the first year of study only.
