Ulster University Overview

Ulster University is located in Northern Ireland and has four campuses in Belfast, Coleraine, Magee College and Jordanstown, and a fifth virtual campus, Campus One, online. Each campus has a different focus, meaning that students will generally spend their entire time at the University on a single site, and more than 2,000 international students from over 50 countries are currently enrolled.

Over 90% of Ulster graduates are in work or further study six months after graduation, and more than 4,000 students have successfully completed eLearning courses at Ulster University. The Times Higher Education 100 Under 50 rankings classified Ulster as a leading modern University and in the top 100 globally.

The University of Ulster places a strong focus on employability, with many courses receiving professional accreditation and including work placements. This also leads to certain unique facilities, like FireSERT: a postgraduate teaching and PhD programme which focuses on fire safety science and engineering.

Ulster University London Campus

Pre-sessional English, International Foundation, BSc Hons Business Studies, MSc International Business, BSc Hons Accounting with Finance and MSc Marketing are all studied at the London campus. Studying at the Ulster University London campus will enable international students to gain a unique insight into how one of the most popular and diverse cities in the world works. London is regarded as the world's centre of finance, and its strong economic position will allow for many placement and part-time work opportunities during study.

Ulster University Services for International Students

International Orientation and airport pickups take place one week before the start of term and consist of talks and workshops to introduce international students to the University and each other. English language support is available from CELT both before and during the beginning of the year across all campuses.

Ulster University Accommodation

International students are guaranteed a room in University accommodation is available on the Coleraine, Magee and Jordanstown campuses, with plenty of private accommodation and strong inter-campus transport at the Belfast campus.

Ulster University Location

Ulster University has four main campuses: Belfast, Jordanstown, Coleraine and Magee, as well as two smaller campuses in Birmingham and London. The Belfast campus is part of the city’s vibrant Cathedral Quarter, the city’s up and coming cultural centre. The area is part of a dynamic arts scene and the campus plays host to a number of annual festivals including the Ulster Festival of Art and Design.

The Jordanstown campus is situated north of Belfast and is a major attraction for those who choose to live in the city and travel to the campus in private car or via the excellent rail, bus and taxi network. Coleraine, located beside the River Bann, is the largest and busiest town on the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland and, for students with an interest in outdoor activities, the Causeway Coast is perfect and the campus is located close to the centre of town. The Magee campus is located a short walk along the River Foyle away from the city walls and comprises a mixture of historical and new buildings and modern and traditional facilities.
