Scholarships at WMG

Warwick is delighted to offer one award of £25,000 in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign for a Spanish student pursuing a taught master’s course in WMG.

Eligibility criteria

• Be a Spanish national residing in Spain and be assessed as international for fee purposes.

• Have applied to one of the following taught Master’s course at the University of Warwick to begin studies in 2025:

• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer and have accepted this offer.

• Must not be in receipt of any other source of funding, either from Warwick or from another external funding body, and able to pay the remainder of the tuition fees and living expenses. While applicants may apply for other scholarships, the GREAT Spain award must be their sole scholarship funding at enrolment, if successful.

Successful candidates are expected to:

• Be active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area.

• Be willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI.

• Be willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment.

• Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships.

• Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK.

 On return to Spain:

• Be willing to demonstrate future contribution to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement through the benefits achieved after graduating from UK higher education.

• Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars.

• As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing to occasionally speak to potential candidates about your experience of studying in the UK.

Applications open on 16th December 2024, and close on 30th April 2025 at 11.59pm UK local time.

WMG will be awarding a select number of scholarships worth £20,000 tuition fee discount to students from Africa commencing study on full-time MSc programmes taught within the WMG department at Warwick, beginning in September 2025.

The WMG Africa Scholarships are merit-based awards and available on a competitive basis. Applications will be judged on candidates' past academic achievements, professional experience, motivations, and vision for the future.

Eligibility

• Applicants must hold an offer to study on a WMG full-time MSc course starting September 2025

• Students must be classified as overseas fee payers and be a national of an African country

• Applicants should have an excellent academic track-record and/or strong professional profile in order to qualify.

• For conditional offer-holders, scholarship awards will also be conditional on achieving the awardee's final predicted grade.

• WMG Africa Scholarships are for self-funded students only. NB: students with partial bursaries, on scholarship-loan schemes or partially funded by an external organisation may also be considered. Awardees should inform the scholarship committee if they are in receipt of another scholarship or are later awarded other funding.

• WMG Africa Scholarships are awarded for study on UK full-time MSc programmes only.

• WMG Africa Scholarships are paid towards tuition fees only and cannot be paid in cash or towards accommodation or maintenance costs.

• WMG will award Africa Scholarships across all WMG full-time MSc programmes to optimise diversity.

All students from Latin America (including Central and South America), applying for a WMG Master's course to begin September 2025, will automatically be entitled to a £10,000 tuition fee discount.

Eligibility

• Students must have an offer to study on one of the WMG full-time MSc courses, starting September 2025.

• Students must be classified as overseas fee payers and be a national of a Latin American country (including Mexico, Central and South America).

• Students should be self-funded or part-funded.

• The bursary will be reflected your CAS for visa application purposes.

• Where a special arrangement is in place with a specific funding body, i.e. Colfuturo in Colombia, the higher reduction will be awarded. Multiple discounts cannot apply.

All students with Syrian nationality, applying for a WMG Master's course to begin September 2025, will automatically be entitled to a £10,000 tuition fee discount.

Eligibility

• Students must have an offer to study on one of the WMG full-time MSc courses, starting September 2025.

• Students must be classified as overseas fee payers and have Syrian nationality.

• Students need to be self-funding their studies to be eligible for this award.

• The bursary will be applied to your CAS for visa purposes.

All students from Türkiye (Turkey), applying for a WMG Master's course to begin September 2025, will automatically be entitled to a £10,000 tuition fee discount.

Bursary holders may also be considered for a WMG Excellence ScholarshipLink opens in a new window (for the chance to receive up to £15,000 tuition fee award). Please ensure you submit your scholarship application within four weeks of receiving your offer to be considered. If successful, your scholarship with replace your bursary. Two WMG awards cannot be given to the same student.

Eligibility

Please note: Bursaries are for self-funded students only. If your fees are being covered by another organisation, you should inform us as the discount may not apply.

• Students must have an offer to study on one of the WMG full-time MSc courses, starting September 2025.

• Students must be classified as overseas fee payers and be a Turkish National.

• Students should be self funded.

• Warwick has an agreement with the Turkish Ministry of Education - MoE students will receive a 20% discount at the time of invoicing. Please inform us if you are in receipt of MoE funding so that your discount can be amended accordingly.

• The bursary will be applied to your CAS for visa purposes.

WMG will be awarding over £1.5 million in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study on full-time MSc programmes taught within the WMG department at Warwick, beginning in September 2025.

WMG Excellence Scholarships are merit-based awards, available on a competitive basis. With a student intake of over 1,300 each year, the scholarship scheme is designed to support excellence and diversity of perspective which will enrich the learning environment.

Applications will be judged on candidates' past academic achievements, professional experience, motivations, and vision for the future.

We have a range of award levels including £5,000, £10,000 and £15,000 tuition fees awards for International fee paying students and £2,000, £3,500 and £5,000 tuition fee awards for UK fee paying students.

Important information

• Please submit your scholarship application within four weeks of receiving your offer. Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee on a monthly basis and the first set of results will be communicated by the middle of February 2025, and monthly thereafter. It may take up to eight weeks to receive the outcome of your scholarship application.

• Please note that the scholarship budget is limited and awards are highly competitive - in order to maximise your chances of success, you should submit your MSc application as early as possible.
