St Mary's University has won the Outstanding Support for Students prize at the Times Higher Education 2022 awards ceremony.
The current comprehensive, holistic package of ‘St Marys Cares’ support addresses financial, emotional, pastoral, transition, employability and accommodation issues and includes staff development activity at its heart.
It is continuously examined in a cycle of reflection and impact evaluation, driven by the voices and experiences of students, and then refined to ensure that we continue to provide an authentic and valuable offer for our most vulnerable students, which demonstrates research-informed best practice.
St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor, Anthony McClaran said: “We are delighted St Mary’s has been recognised for its outstanding student support for those who have been in care.
"I’d like to extend my congratulations to our staff, who work tirelessly to ensure our students have a supportive, well-rounded and inspiring experience at this University. I would also like to thank our students, whose openness, honesty and willingness to work with us has made St Mary’s the strong community it is today."

My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
