The University of St Andrews was ranked second overall and the best in Scotland following the publication of the Guardian University Guide 2021.
Scoring highly for student satisfaction, student experience, graduate employment and the quality of its academic programmes, the University managed to split the pair of Oxford and Cambridge once again, but this time narrowly missing out to the former for the coveted top spot. Nine subjects also ranked in the UK top ten, including International Relations, Media and Film Studies and Computer Science.
Professor Sally Mapstone, St Andrews Principal and Vice-Chancellor, said: “For a small Scottish university to be competing amongst the very best in the United Kingdom reflects our commitment to the highest standards of learning, teaching and student experience. Our warmest congratulations to Oxford on securing the top spot this year.
“This ranking is significant because it comes at a difficult period for students across the country who have experienced a year like no other, and are facing a very different university experience."

My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
